Hammer Projects: Greg Lynn

The Los Angeles architect's latest sculptural wokr - Fountain of Toys - is on display in the museum's outdoor courtyard. The installation is made entirely out of children's toys that have been cut and reassembled in multiple layers, with water spouting from the top and pooling at the base.

Iannis Xenakis: Composer, Architect, Visionary

In this retrospective exhibition, visitors are treated to more than 60 documents (some, never-before-seen) by the architect, engineer and composer. Works on display include computer-generated musical scores, architectural blueprints and archival photographs. The exhibit will also include Xenakis's conceptual drawings and renderings for Polytopes; audiences will remember his Polytope de Montreal, the sound and light show he created for the central space of the French pavilion at Expo 67.

Hanging Around: Modern and Contemporary Lighting from the Permanent Collection

Architect Philip Beesley and his work, titled Hylozoic Ground, has been selected by jury to represent Canada at the 12th annual Venice Biennale in Architecture. Hylozoic Ground will be installed in the Canada Pavilion located in the Giardini. The Biennale is the single most important and prestigious international event in contemporary architecture. More than 30 international exhibitors will participate in the 2010 Venice Biennale in Architecture.
